Open Source Becomes More Important In An Economic Downturn

An article I came across which makes this claim. I believe this also applies to open innovation, primarily on the principle that open innovation/crowdsourcing is also a means to spread financial risk in your innovation efforts. In other words, the ‘crowd’ is willing to use their own resources (financial or otherwise) to provide answers.
